Inexpensive units, some available for less than $100 retail, attach to the power meter and show in real time the amount and cost of electricity being used in the house. The knowledge encourages people to be energy consumption conscious, shows the benefits of energy efficient appliances, and displays the benefits of using high-draw appliances in off peak hours. This has the benefit of creating more disposable income for all income classes and helping the environment. Many European countries already have this requirement but so far energy company lobbyists have blocked this type of legislation. In the meantime, you can buy one yourself to start doing your part.

Why are there there so many vehicles with front side windows clearly in violation of Michigan tint laws? What about vehicles that use center turn lanes to merge into traffic? And a texting ban? Checking your email on a mobile device and/or dialing a cellular phone are just as dangerous. Hands free, voice-activated dialing and emergency calls should only be allowed.

The good news this will result in less heart attacks and heart related illnesses and cancer cases in Michigan but probably more unemployment. If we really wanted to give licensed premises a fighting chance we could allow them to have one multi- game slot machine controlled and taxed by the state with a smaller jackpot than the casino say $1099 with a payout of 88% the establishment and Michigan both make 6%. I know every Sovereign Nations Casino's would object, but realize this though they promise many jobs when they open, as they modernize their equipment they don't have the same positions that once required 850 personal etc and they operate on a lot less staff. And as I've said in a previous idea steal Florida's tourism. couldn't be a worse time in the gulf of Mexico for us but also for tourists if we don't entice them to the rest of beautiful America now we could lose them to vacating in China er I mean Australia or Thailand which gains popularity even with their harsh and severe laws

One of our State's greatest issues is the enormous amount of new college graduates that leave Michigan following graduation. It is no secret that the more highly educated young people our State can retain, the better we will be positioned from a National standpoint down the road. My idea is to provide either a tax credit or a signing bonus to students who gradute from Michigan Universities or Colleges who stay in-state for work. Obviously the higher the education, the larger the incentive (i.e. PhD gets the most, with MBA [or equivalent] then Bacholors, Associetes, etc...) This incentive program will also provide local corporations and businesses an extra marketing tool to recruit the best of the best. Nothing incentivies people like money and the more educated people we can retain, the brighter the outlook for this State.
